Scheduled Visits

Matt Maiocco is reporting the following players are set to visit.

Arkansas OT Tony Ugoh
Florida DE Ray McDonald
Tennessee DT Justin Harrell
Towson OT Jermon Bushrod
Hawaii DE Ikaika Alama-Francis
Tennessee WR Robert Meachem
Michigan DT Alan Branch
University of Arkansas DE Jamaal Anderson
Louisiana State S LaRon Landry
Washington St WR Jason Hill

Also from Maiocco: You’ll notice the absence of DE Adam Carriker (Nebraska) and LB Patrick Willis (Mississippi). The organization feels as if they’ve done enough homework and have spent enough one-on-one time with both of those players to know what they’d be getting.

  1. does anyone have the list from last year invites?

  2. everyone is calling me an idiot but im telling you, meachem is going to be the 2nd best wr out of the dratf, and i think Nolan and Scot really want him. I can see the #11 pick being traded down or somehow we are going to be moving up by trading the 2nd round and a player. I just have the hunch the 9ers are going to make one last trade this offseason.

  3. draft*

  4. i would love to see us use some of them draft picks to get the DE we want and a go to Wide out with all those pics we got there is no need for us to come away from this draft without the player we want but i do have faith in Nolan and his staff so far since he has been here he and his staff had been on point in getting the players they want and getting rid of the players we dont need i like the direction we are going ……………..if we go 8-8 ,or 9-7 . 10-6 i;m happy but we are on the right track to become that team of the NFC West again like we are use to

  5. I agree with Scott we should trade our second pick and one of our players for Robert Meachem he would be an explosive reciever for us. DO IT 49ERS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  6. The fact that they already know enough of Carriker and Willis is very telling indeed… I want Willis.

  7. I say we get pat willis or Alan Branch first round I would the Ideal of getting Dawyne Jarrett over Robert Meachem in the 2nd if he there I go by what I see on Film not what someone does in shorts at a combine just ask the so called best conrnerback in the draft Leon Hall about Dawyne Jarrett also look at Lamarr woodley at de along with Antony spencer

  8. Most poeple are on the Willis bandwagon, but the more pressing need is a legit DT to add depth to an already lackluster, thin line. I don’t see the linebacking corps being effective at all if none of the linemen are able to occupy space and play their role in a 3-4 scheme.

I say draft Carriker or Branch.

  9. Absolutley Donnie, it all stars in the trenches.Without a good D line those LB’s will be blocked every time.

  10. I say we go after KC WR Sammie Parker (caught 41 passes in 2006). He is a RFA but will require only a 4th round compensation. We are guessing that we will pick Jason Hill or Steve Smith in the 2nd round. Why do that when we can get a young, proven NFL receiver for only a 4th round choice? What WR can we get (after Calvin Johnson) who is going to catch you 40 balls?

  11. You have to take the best defensive player available. And according to my opinion, that will probably be Patrick Willis over Carriker and Branch. I know we need a run stuffing defensive tackle but there is some depth at that spot in this draft.

For a wideout, I agree with trading some pics to move up and either grab Meachum or Jarrett, either one. And about Sammie Parker, we already have some decent wideouts that are better than him. Remember, we drafted Brandon Williams last year in the third and he hasn’t seen much playing time at wideout but he has a very similar body frame to Parker. I think Williams will see an increase at PT in that position, not just kick returns.

  12. I agree with Paul, but what IF we take Anderson with our 11th pick…..that could change our thoughts on the second round. I’m not saying, “DO IT!” But, I would rather have Anderson over Branch or Carriker. The non-visits of Carriker and Willis means that they are the top two on Nolan’s board right now. I have no source for that comment, but why else would they not even schedule a visit?

  13. I think that either way it all turns out, the 9ers are going to chose pat willis with their first pick. Nolan got a chance to see him in the senior bowl and said that he is everything that you would want in a MLB, he spoke of his leadership and ability. i also think that they will move up in the draft to pisk up either a top WR or DL, But look for them to pick up a top DB as well.

  14. I’d like to see Branch… but why no mention of Okoye out of Louisville? I think if he’s there it’d be insanity to pass up.

  15. okoye is much better suited for a 4-3 defense. So even though he is talented he is probably not part of the equation for us.

  16. If we trade our second pick and a player then it should be kwame harris that way we can finally get rid of him and if a team is not trying to trade staight up for him then the second pick can butter the deal up to take kwame harris and that will get rid of what ever salary this dude is getting which is 1st rd pick money.

  17. Here’s how draft should look first round-11 PAT WILLIS, 2ND ROUND-10 (1)DWAYNE Jarrett,or (2A)Robert Meachem, or (2B)Sidney Rice. 3RD ROUND-12 (1)DE-Lamarr Woodley,or (2a) DE-Ray Mcdonald or (2B) DE-Ikaika Alama-Francis or (2C) DE-Victor Abiamiri 3RD ROUND-34 DT-Marcus Thomas 4TH ROUND-5 DB-Eric Wright,or (2A)DB-Ryan Smith 4TH ROUND-11 OT-James Marten. that would be an outstanding draft if all these players fell to us

  18. well on a artical on Maioccos 49ers blog about a month ago, nolan and company where looking at okoye as a defensive end in a 3-4 defense.

  19. Marcus….there is no way that MEacum or Jarrett make it to us in the SECOND ROUND. This isn’t me trying to mean to you, but the players you are mentioning such as Lamarr Woodley, Eric Wright, Ray McDonald are ALL going to probably go in the second round. It would be awesome if all of those players DID fall to us, though.

  20. i dont know if it was ray mcdonald or marcus thomas but one of them plus tank tyler draft stocks are slipping because of off the field isues, but i think it was marcus thomas who would be a second or third round talent might drop to between 5th and 7th rounds,i remember hearing that on espn this past weak sometime.

  21. im just hoping our runstoping gets better this year, last year we had alot of runners run over 100 yards last year.

  22. some scouts are saying that gain adams stock is dropping.i remember a few years ago the same thing happend with terrell suggs and look how good he did in a 3-4 when nolan was there and now in a 4-3.if gaines adams fall to us i would love to have him.what do you guys think?

  23. This is a little out there but i have heard that justin smiley is not in the long term plans and the lions need lineman bad, they are also looking to trade down to get more picks, we have a ton of picks and a 1st to 2nd rd talent at G, so what if we traded picks (like a 1st and 3rd) and smiley to move up to 2 and take CJ???? like i said i know its far fetched but not impossible??

  24. i just went on http://www.football.com and there voters pole question is-which free agent signing of the off season thus far?other 25%,l.davis cowboys16.6%,jamal lewis 13.4%,ashley lalie sf 49ers9.6%.

  25. i would lmao if the raiders pick o.t joe thomas thats what was wrong with the raiders last year.it wasnt the quarterbacks falt he only had 2 seconds to get rid of the ball.

  26. I don’t understand the obsession with DT. First of all, all a DT does in a 3-4 is fill gaps. That means he just needs to be big and work hard. We already have a big guy (Franklin) and decent backups (like Sopoaga). Why would we draft a guy like Branch who doesn’t work hard?

I’m also tired of the arguement that we were running a 4-3 last year because lack of depth at line…that just makes no sense. Why would we INCREASE the number of linemen on the field if we didn’t have enough?? We ran the 3-4 because Ulbrich and Smith were injured, Lawson was too experienced, and we didn’t have enough LBs. We were missing a true NT, but that’s why we went and got Franklin. A lot of these mock drafts have us taking Branch just because they can’t figure out what the Bills are going to do. If the Bills don’t take Willis, these analysts can’t figure out how the draft is going to turn out (trades?) so they make us take Branch despite the fact that we don’t need him. (That is a stupid way to run a mock draft, by the way).

Also, the phrase “in a draft you either take the BPA or the best fit” is also a load of BS. No franchise really thinks like that. You take the best player available at positions that you have roster space for improvement. For example, even if Russel or Quinn fall to #11, the 9ers are not going to take a QB, nor are they likely to spend a high pick on RBs, TEs, or CBs. Luckily (?) the 9ers have space at just about every position, which increases their chances of selecting the BPA.

With that understanding, I think Willis is the best choice, because he’s probably the best defensive player in the draft (possibly with the exception of Gaines Adams). Carriker is a good fit, but it’s not really worth it to take a non-pass rushing DE at number 11 and the 9ers have needs everywhere, so it’s not as if they need to find an area for a guy to make an impact. Branch is neither a good fit, nor an appropriate guy to take at #11. At #11 you want a guy at a value position, not a hole filling DT that has trouble playing a whole game or making an impact against offensive linemen. The other guy that I’m seeing on mock drafts is Ted Ginn, Jr. I don’t understand this AT ALL. #11 is way too high for basically a KR with poor route running skills. I should also point out that Ginn is no Devin Hester despite what the comparisons that analysts are making. If the 9ers want a receiver they should trade down or up into the late 1st round or just wait in the 2nd round for Sidney Rice or something. The value difference between Ginn and Gonzalez or Ginn and Bowe or Jarret is not significant enough to warrant taking him so early.

If Willis is gone, then I could see taking Carriker and even Branch (if the organization sees Branch as a better player), but if he’s available, I don’t see why they would pass on him.

  27. A YALL QUICK QUESTION…WHAT EMAIL DO U HAVE 2 HAVE 2 GET IN THA 49ERSWEBZONE FAN FORUM..I BEEN TRYIN 2 GET IN 4 LONG MINUTE…BUT MAH YAHOO EMAIL IS NOT GETTIN THRU..

  28. Todd McShay’s (from ESPN Insider) complate draft for 49ers: Alan Branch, Tim Crowder, Jacoby Jones, Ryan Harris, Michael Bush, John Wendling, H.B. Blades, Aaron Rouse, Clark Harris, and Yamon Figurs.

  29. i dont like ryan harris,he doesnt fit our mauler type system unless he added weight and strength in the of season.hes a zone blocker in the mold of the broncos and texas system.

  30. aaaaaahhhhaaaaaa fuck all the refs.i still dont like that they fine tim dunkin 25gran for his opinion.if that was the case they would make all the money in the world of of this sight alone.i hate the refs!i still remeber the fieldgoal is good against arizona wich it wasnt.

  31. TO GET OFF THE SUBJECT VINCE YOUNG ON THE COVER OF MADDEN WAT A BUNCH OF BS SO I GUESS U DONT HAVE TO GO TO THE PLAYOFFS OR ANYTHING HOW BOUT MANNING OR TOMLINSON MADDENS A FUCKIN ASSHOLE WE NEED THE 2K SERIES TO COME BACK MADDEN HAD TO BUY THE NFL LICENCE CAUSE 2K WAS GETIN BETER THAN MADDEN ALEX SMITH THREW MORE TDS THAN YOUNG MAYBE NEXT YEAR CHRIS LEAK WILL GET THE COVER FOR SITTIN ON THE BENCH

  32. Todd McShay’s credibility is garbage as far as I am concerned….the stuff he was saying last year about our draft was completely off besides Vernon Davis, which anyone could have seen a mile away.

  33. 49ersfaithful.net add me all you 49ersnews.com guys, i have it under my best site to go to. Search for THEMerts81

  34. VINCE YOUNG IS NO COVER BOY

  35. VINCE YOUNG WILL GO THROUGH THE SOPHMORE JINX NEXT YEAR,BECAUSE HE WILL HAVE TO ONLY ROOKIES TO THROUGH TO .THEY SHOULD HAVE PUT ONE OF THE ARIZONA RECEIVERS ON THERE.BECAUSE NATE IS GOING TO KNOCK ONE OF THEM OUT THIS YEAR.

  36. reading is to the mind, what exercize is to the body.your lucky numbers are 21,frank gore,11,alex smith,99,emanual lawson,85,vernon davisand number 49…..ers go to the playoffs.

  37. I think we should tade are first round pick in exchange with detoit for there #2 pick and give up a 2nd round pick to get calvin johnson

  38. Antoine that is not feasible at all. The value of the #2 compared to the value of the #11 and #42 are not even close. I could prove this if someone could supply a link to the value chart for the draft. I can’t find it anywhere.

  39. I just read nfl.com’s analysis by position on linebackers; and they said it was doubtful that a linebacker will be chosen in the top ten. I say thank you god and hello Patrick Willis. Did anyone see the youtube on him, where he picks the guy up in a picture perfect tackle and slams him to the ground? That clip sold me on this guy. I don’t watch college football. We need that kind of ferociousness in our linebacker core. Brandon has got some of that, but I think this guy could be a leader in our core for years to come.

  40. don’t understand the obsession with DT. First of all, all a DT does in a 3-4 is fill gaps. That means he just needs to be big and work hard. We already have a big guy (Franklin) and decent backups (like Sopoaga). Why would we draft a guy like Branch who doesn’t work hard?

  41. JACKIE:
ANYTHING TO HELP OUR DEENSE IS GOOD, BRANCH WOULD BE GREAT, EVEN THO HES A ROOKIE….

  42. Just remember that God (aka Joe Montana) was picked 82nd over all, Brady was pick 199, Round 6!
Not all gems come out of the first round. I am not here to knock of Smith, Davis and etc. But a lot of times you can find some great players that people look over. It was coaches like Walsh who could see talent thru all the BS

  43. Gore and Snyder in the 3rd, M Rob in the 4th, Parys in the 5th, Delanie Walker in the top of the 6th, and Melvin Oliver in the bottom of the sixth. Although these players are not all gems; most of them will be very good; and Gore is already a gem and then some. Nolan and co. know what they are doing. Get ready for a great draft niners fans. We will draft well. Willis is comming to bring a little nasty to our D, and then we will make a play to move up to get a quality receiver. Chill;just roll with Noll.

  44. id like to replace smiley with studdard if we make that trade-guard outta texas with a nasty attitude-should be there in 4th-as far as our #11 pick im pretty confident we will take willis which will give singletary the incentive to stick around for a while-our-i wouldnt waist another pick from a trade in the 1st round for a wr as i like hill in the second-3rd round look for a charles haley clone and a rt-4th round bush would be prudent if hes there along with needs as it pertains to talent

  45. Good point razoreater. If Singletary has Willis and Manny under his wing, and our team is on the rise, he might be more inclined to stick with us next year, when head coaching jobs come up.

  46. im still not ruling out getting paul williams from fresno state since nolan knows him from the seniorbowl and our new quarterbacs coach knows him because he was with fresno state in 2004-2005.

  47. I would love it if we snagged Willis in the first (of course), snagged a quality free safety (Merriweather) or Sidney Rice with our second, traded for another lower second rounder and got Jason Hill, grabbed a quality o lineman in the third along with a d lineman, and did the same the rest of the draft.

  48. But we should also grab ONE running back at the best possible time to complete the depth of our running game (do this no later than the fourth round). Who knows what might fall to us at that position?

  49. Dear Ryan,
I’m glad that you agree with me on Willis. You seem to be the biggest geek on this site. Don’t take that as a bad thing, you seem to know more than anyone on here. Would you please(since I just gave you an ego boost) put up the link to the value chart for the draft. I know you can do it buddy.

  50. In order to get the Lions #2 pick we would have to give up our first, both thirds, a forth, next years second, plus Justin Smiley to get CJ.

  51. boby Boucher, who are you looing for, i have espn draftbook and they have a value chart 1 threw 305?

  52. here is the trade value chart

  57. Heres my draft for Nolan who need a scout Round 1-11 LB-Pat Willis 2ND ROUND-10 (1)WR-Dwayne Jarrett, (2A)WR-Dwayne Bowe, (2B)WR-Robert Meachem,(2C)WR-Sidney Rice (3A)WR-Anthony Gonzalez OR (3B)WR-Aundrae Allison 3RD ROUND-12 (1)DE-Lamarr Woodley, (2A)DE-Anthony Spencer, (2B)DE-Ray Mcdonald, (3A)DE-Quentin Moss (3B)DE-Victor Abiamiri (3C)DE-Ikaika Alama-Francis 3RD ROUND-34 (1)DB-Eric Wright (2A)DB-Ryan Smith, (2B)DB-A.J. Davis we should be able to get one of the players i named in that round at that pick that should get you all to the end of the 3rd round check back nest week for 4-7 have to research a little more

  58. Bobby, no offense taken whatsoever, I AM A GEEK!!! I’m a 6’4″ 240 pound GEEK! As for the draft………sorry, no point value from me. Jerry knows what he is doing. I just think that some people are being unrealistic in their expectations with regard to who is going to be available. Like Meachum, Bow, and Jarrett ALL being available in the second? No offense, but we would be lucky to see ONE of those in the second round. Also, Anthony Spencer and Lamarr Woodley will NOT MAKE IT PAST THE SECOND ROUND. The rest of what Marcus is saying sounds excellent…I just wish we would work out a KWAME DEAL to get another higher pick. KWAME and our third rounder would go the distance for us…or even Kwame and a fourth rounder.

  59. so who thinks ashley lalie will get 1000 yards receiving this year?

  60. With Sidney Rice…. Its a strong possibility…

  61. Yeah, the only way that happens is if we have another threat on the other side….otherwise I say 8-900 yards.

  62. I can’t remember who said, “In order to get the Lions #2 pick we would have to give up our first, both thirds, a forth, next years second, plus whatever else” but that person is, lack of a better word…wrong! If the Raiders, for example want to trade their first pick to the 49ers for nothing or for the 11th pick it can happen. The Value chart is there to help management decide if it is a good trade point wise for the organization. That is all value chart is. The NFL didn’t install this system and say teams have to live by it. It is only their to help simplify things.

  63. To think about it, Jimmy Johnson was the one that came up with the chart!

  64. Ryan, Jordan Kent 6’5 out of oregan is he that good, the guy looks like a monster, it says he has’nt been playing football that long, you think he a good pick. looks good to me. is he fast, dependable in college. And is meachum really 6’2 or 6’3 some sites have him listed at 6’2. Let me know.

  65. IF we satisfy our D line and O line needs early in the draft and only get one receiver (most likely with our second) then we would be fools not to snag him with our 5th or 6th pick. He is projected as a 5th round or 6th round prospect. He is a freakish athlete at Oregon and IS A MONSTER, but he is raw. You are completely correct…..he hasn’t played that long, but under Sullivan I am sure we can make it happen since he is HUGE, FAST, and HAS GOOD HANDS.

  66. We need Jarrett or were screweeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeed! The guy is a monster. We all hate USC, BUT THAT ASIDE DWAYNE JARRETT IS THE SOLUTION OR WE ARE SCREWEEEEEEEEEEEED, AND THAT CHANCE WILL COME BACK AND HAUNT US!

  67. Jerry, It is a good possibility for Lelie to get a 1000 yards this up coming season. I think that it all depends on how our boy Frank does on the ground. If he does as good, or better then last years performance then it will open up some long passing yards for Smith to Lelie. I hope someone on our squad gets a 1000 yards in the air if not Lelie.

  68. PLEASE DRAFT JARRETT AT NUMBER 11! PLEASE 49ERS, OR WERE SCREWEEEEEEEEEEEEEED! Please dont make this mistake, please get him ignore what everyhater says on this site, were all fans we want whats best for our beloved team. Draft Dwayne Jarrett or were screwed!

  69. JARRETT’S ELITE SIZE 6’5 IS THE SOLUTION AT WIDE RECEIVER, THAT HEIGHT WILL MAKE HIM A STEP ABOVE THE REST!

  70. DON’T F___ck it up! plaese don’t!

  71. JARRETT NUMBER 11! JARRETT NUMBER 11! JARRETT NUMBER 11! JARRETT NUMBER 11! JARRETT NUMBER 11!JARRETT NUMBER 11! JAJARRETT NUMBER 11! JARRETT NUMBER 11! JARRETT NUMBER 11RRETT NUMBER 11! JARRETT NUMBER 11! JARRETT NUMBER 11!PLEASE!!!!!

  72. I don’t think we will be screwed without Jarrett goldrush. Yea, he’s nice and all, but I am willing to be bet we go 9-7, or 10-6 with, or without him. Look for for Davis to have a beautiful season. Gore will do his thing and now with a much improved D, our O will have a few more chances to score. I agree we need one more quality WR. Look for for Battle to step up and make a huge impact this season.

  73. DON’T YOU THINK WE NEED A TALL ASS RECEIVER, CAUSE SOME PROBLEMS!

  74. WHAT DO YOU THINK COREY!

  75. I WATCHED JARRETT LIVE AND I SAID, THIS GUY HEIGHT MAKES HIM A STEP ABOVE. The guy was barely jumping to get balls making thosew safetys look like snow whit and the littl dwarfs, the guy gonna be big! we need a 6’5 Receiver!

  76. WE NEED A PHYSICAL TALL 6’5 RECEIVER!

  77. I think it would be nice of course, but not necessary. I think good route runners, good hands, and a wide out that can hold a down field block is more important then being tall. J ville is loaded with tall WR’s and look how they finished. Decent, but not great.

  78. WE NEED JARRET OR PICK UP BOWE HE’S A TRUE 6’3. MEACHUM IS 6’2 AND WILL BE A BUST IN THE NFL, HE MIGHT END UP AS A BACK UP RECEIVER, BUT NOT A PRIME TIME RECEIVER! WATCH MEACHUM WANT HACK IT! HE WILL SUCK, AND THE COWHILLBILLIES WILL GET EITHER JARRETT OR BOWE, AND THAT WILL HAUNT THE HE’LL OUT OF US. WE NEED JARRETT, BOWE OR RICE. DON’T F__)____K UP!

  79. i think that we will make the right pick and i think that we are bringing in a lot o g good players to talk to so i think that ya we are going to do some work on the draft and work some of that majic so lets go niners we got this playoffs this year hell ya good time to be a niner fan we are on the rise and the last 7years have been ruff if your a niner fan but we will be BACK that forshure go niners!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  80. WATCH THE TAPE OF THE 6’5 RECEIVER VS. THE GUYS 6’2 T0 6’3 THE GUYS WHO ARE 6’4 6’5 MAKE THE JOB ALOT EASIER AND MAKE THE REST OF THE PLAYER LOOK INFERIOR AND SIZE DOES MATTER!! THESE TALLL GUYS HAVE MORE STRENGTH AND LEVERAGE AND PHYSICALITY!

  81. i like what goldrusher saying we do need that 6 5 wr that would be nice

  82. GO NINERS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  83. RECEIVERS 6’4 6’5 MAKE A BIG DIFFERENCE AND WILL BE A STEP ABOVE IN THE BIGGER FASTER NFL GAME!

  84. SOME COME OUT A STEP BEHIND BUT IF YOU GOT THAT SIZE AND A LITTEL SPEED A LEAST THEN YOUR IN A GOOD DIRECTION FOR BEING SUCSESFULL WR IN THE NFL WE NEED A GUY LIKE THAT BUT I COULD ALSO SEE US TRADING IN THE DRAFT AND WORK SOME MOVES WHAT YOU THINK
    GO NINERS YA BABY PLAYOFFS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  85. NINERS RULE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  86. I YOU GUYS ON THIS SITE ARE MY BROTHERS IN THE 49ER FAMILY WHETHER WE AGREE OR DISAGREE, AND I RESPECT ALL YOUR OPIONS EVEN IF I DISAGREE, I JUST FEEL LIKE WE NEED A BIG TALL RECEIVER 6’4 TO 6’5 THATS DAMN GOOD. I’M TIRED OF SEEING THE ESPN COWBOY LOVING MEDIA WIN, I WANT TO SEE OUR TEAM COME BACK TO BEING THE BEST TEAM AND AS SOON AS POSSIBLE! I WANT TO WIN NUMBER 6 AND BEYOND!

  87. YA JOSH I THINK YOUR RIGHT, THIS PROBABLY WOULD’NT HAPPEN BUT I WOULD LOVE TO TRADE SOME PICKS FOR C. JOHNSON, OR REALISTICALY I WOULD TRADSOME PICKS OR MAKE A TRADE TO GET ANOTHER PICK IN THE FIRST ROUND! WHAT DO YOU THINK!

  88. jarrett barely made a thousand yards last year, but i do like his size, you got to remember that speed isnt everything deion sanders ran a 4.19 or what ever ,but walsh said jerry rice ran a 4.59 in the forty and rice got a few touchdowns against deion when he was in atlanta, cowboys or washington.

  89. MAN JOSH I JUST FEEL KIE WE NEED TO FOCUS OUR ENERGY ON A BIG TALL RECEIVER!

  90. I DON’T WANT US TO MAKE A MISTAKE!

  91. ALEX NEEDS THAT GO TO GUY AND SOMEONE HE CAN BE WITH FOR THE NEXT 5-10 YEARS I DONT CARE IF HE IS 6 5 OR 5 11 JUST AS LONG AS HE A GO TO GUY AND THAT HES A PLAY MAKER AND THAT HE HAS LEADERSHIP AND GOOD OFF THE FEALD BUT THE BIGGER THEY ARE THE BETTER THEY ARE MOST OF THE TIME REMEMBER WE FOUN T.O. SO MABY WE HAVE A GUY LIKE THAT IN MIND THAT WOULD BE COOL BUT ILL BE HAPPY WITH WHO EVER WE GET DIEHARD BABY I SMEEL PLAYOFFS YA !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
GO TO KNBR.COM AND THEY TALK ABOUT THE NINERS A LOT GIANTS SHARKS WARRIORS GO BAY AREA!!!!!!!!!!!!

  92. i think jarrett would be a decent receiver, depending on his work ethic.

  93. I WAS WATCHING NFL LIVE TUESDAY AND KIPER SAID WE NEED TO FOCUS OUR ENERGY ON THE RECEIVER POSITION. ONE OF THE PANEL WAS AN RAIDER, AND MAN HE SAID HE WANTEDTHE 49ERS TO BRING BACK THE 49ER PRIDE, HE SAID NOT IN THE LAST SIX,SEVEN YEARS BUT’ BEFORE EVERYONE WANTED TO GO TO SANFRANCISCO AND PLAY FOR THE 49ERS. THAT WAS GOOD TO SEE SOME SUPPORT FROM ESPN AND THE MEDIA SINC MOST OF THOSE GUYS ARE BYIST COWBOY FANS. I THINK WORDS GETTIN OUT THAT THE WORLD BETTEROUT FOR THE 49ERS!

  94. NFL LIVE SAID TUEDAY WE NEED A RECEIVER!

  95. I HEAR YA DOG I DONT WANT2 MAKE A MISTAKE EATHER BUT I THINK THAT MIKE HAS DONE REALY GOOD FOR US SENSE HE TOOK OVER A I THINK THAT HE PROPLE HAS A PICK IN MIND ALREADY HE A D GUY BUT HAS DRAFTED OFF FIRTS LAST TWO YEARS SO WHAT EVER HE DOES HELL GET ALEX THAT WR AND PATCH UP OTHER DEPTH AND STARING POS.!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  96. I SEEN THAT !

  97. but it wouldnt surprise me if we draft a receiver in the 3rd,4th,5th round.because we needed a starting receiver since t.o. left and the only first round pick we spent on a wide receiver was woods and he is no longer with the team.

  98. JOSH,JERRY I AGREE WITH YOU GUYS I JUST WANT US TO HAVE THAT BIG TARGET TO MATCH UP WITH OTHER TEAMS -PLAIN AND SIMPLE. i HOPE WE GET THAT!

  99. ESPN IS RONG A LOT AND THEY NEVER TALK ANUFF ABOUT US AND WHEN THEY DO ITS LIKE A 5MIN SEGMENT IF THAT YOU KNOW IM LIKE SHIT IM OUT IN .CO. 115. HELL YA WERE GOING TO KICK SOME ASS SPECAL ASS KICKN FOR THE NFC WEST!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  116. LATER DUDE

  117. i think we deed atall defensive tackle,we got rid of anthony adams, but replace him with Aubrayo franklin who is only 6FT 1 INCHES,then we got douglas-6-3,young,6-2,oliver6-3,sopoaga6ft 2inches,and ron fields 6-2.our tallest player is manny lawson who is a linebacker.we should draft a player like alan branch or fresnos state louis leonard.we need big and TALL store for our defensive lineman.

  118. we need ,not deed…

  119. GO NINERS

  120. Hey, I am NOT going to complain if we draft Branch. I would rather have Willis, but if we get Branch then we went after a NEED, and we would get a RUN STUFFER. I am still high on Jamal Anderson……I would rather have Anderson or Branch over Carriker. The thing with Branch is…..what is going to happen to the niners if he REALLY IS the lazy, non-committed, out of shape guy that everyone thought he is? We will be totally in trouble. Either way, we better get someone for our front seven in the draft. Middle linebacker or d line are the NEEDS. However, I am sure to shut my mouth fast if Landry falls to us by some slim chance.

  121. I feel fine about us drafting a d lineman with our first pick, as long as we draft a middle linebacker with our second or third pick. This draft is SOOOOO deep at receiver and I think we COULD still get quality in the later rounds. I still would love us to get Rice AND Hill…..then the offense is going to step it up a notch. THE BIG NO NO IS DRAFTING LEVI BROWN……HE STINKS OF KWAME.

  122. I would rather us even draft Meechum or Jarrett over Brown because he got beat all over the place at the senior bowl.

  123. the best things to me about san fransico to me is when metallica and heavymetal moved from gay glam l.a. to sanfransico in the early 80s.and the best underhyped team in the whole damn un-unitedstates world, the 49ers.alex smith under the helm and frank gore coming out of the backfield and vernon davis stretching the middle along with ashley lalie going deep then them opening up underneath passing lanes for arnaz battle or watching smith run,who the fuck are ya gonna stop now bitch.and watching nate clements or walt harris bitch smack any receiver who decides to come with in 50 feet of there range.and dont forget lawson,banta-cain,moore,maybe smith,b.young,m.oliver,douglas hurasing the hell out of quarterbacks and runningbacks or joe nedney going to put his foot up your fieldgoal ass.WE ARE BACK TO BE WITHOUT RECOND WITH.EVEN THE REFS WILL BE SCARED TO GIVE US A PENALTY.AND LET RON JAWORSKI COMPARE US TO THE EAGLES AT ALL,I WILL CLIMB UP INTO THAT BOTH MYSELF AND CRACK HIM LIKE THE LIBERTY BELL IN PHILLY.

  124. were screwed if we get no dwayne jarrett. Ryan the first is tryin to sabotage our picks, he thinks this will sway the popular team choice, our concern is the offense,we need receivers or were going nowhere. ryan the first must be acowboy fan because he wants his team to get jarrett! mel kiper is saying rayn the first cowboys are going to pick dwayne jarrett, is that what you want ryan, everyone we need to noy listen to ryan the first we need jarrett, he’s tyin to influence the team and fans so we can suck come next year. do not listen we need jarrett!

  125. ryan is a cowboy fan, and we should not listen to him, we need jarrett not defense for first pick!

  126. i hanent heard much about, carson palmers brother jordan palmer is he another carson or another eli?

  127. i havent heard…..

  128. wow..Ryan, there go the ‘Ryan’s a cowboy fan’ charades again..doesnt it just make you laugh? Nobody HAS to listen to Ryan, but he knows what he’s talking about..so THEREFORE, people will listen to him regardless of what you say..now Dwayne is aite, I just dont see him going at 11.It would be GREAT if he fell to us in rd. 2(highly doubtful),But with Carriker, Adams, Willis, Branch those guys are studs that we just cant pass up if they should happen to be available..Plus, all the aforementioned guys fit our most pressing positional needs(DE, LB, we also need[obviously] WR, depth at DB).JARRETT IS NOT THE ANSWER(at 11 at least)!!

  129. I dont think ryan the 1st is a cowboy fan he wouldnt be chatin on a niner website ass! ANYWAY ANY1 KNOW WATS UP WITH ERIC MOULDS?

  130. i dont think ryan the 1st is a cowboy fan if he were he woudnt be chattin about the niners all the time ass! ANY1 HEARD ANYTHING ABOUT ERIC MOULDS?

  131. AND THA GOLDEN STATE WARRIORS MAKE IT 2 THA PLAYOFFS!!!!!WE GOIN ALL THA WAY BABY….FUCK DALLAS..FUCK LA…FUCK PHOENIX..FUCK SAN ANTONIO..FUCK DENVER..FUCK UTAH..FUCK HOUSTON..AND THA WHOLE EASTERN CONFERENCE…BAY AREA..DOIN IT BIGG..2007-2008…NINERS/GIANTS.SAN JOSE SHARKS GOIN ALL THA WAY 2…GONE

  132. IIGHT DONE WIT MAH BRAGGIN..BUT I GOTZ SUM NEW 2 TALK ABOUT…WELL 4 U GUYS 2 CHECK OUT..ITS PRETTY….

  133. MEANT PRETTY FUNNY…..

  134. big big ryan the first whatever the same person, No one brings up their hatred for the Cowboys, does anyone on the site hate and want to show the cowboy fans and cowboys who the best team in the NFL is. DOES ANYBODY HATE THOSE HILLBILLIES AND WANT TO SHOW THEM WE ARE THE ELITE TEAM, NOT THEM, AND THE ESPN LOVING MEDIA! SOMEBODY SAY SOMETHING!

  135. I’m from San Fran and i relocated to Houston on my job unfortunatly, and the cowboy loving media on the radio shows are saying the cowboys are going to get Dwayne Jarrett in the draft. (Please 49ers don’t let this happen) What do you guys think we should do to prevent this, get one more pick in the first round after number 11 late in the 1st to get him trade some picks or make a trade to get him behind number 11.

  136. He is going to be unbelievable! His height size he” be open alot!

  137. i would take sidney rice!because no one has mentioned his name that much on espn, nfl net or cold pizza.everyone under estamates him and there is one word that pops up everytime you here jarretts name ,BUST!!!!!!!FONG GOUL!!!!!!

  138. wow is 49erforlife bugging the hell out of anyone else I know it can’t just be me. look man it doesn’t matter if you were able to get every niner fan to want jarret with the 11th pick, nolan and company are gonna do what they think best not what us fans think. so stop trying to act like we have any influence on who we pick. oh and its pretty obvious ryan isn’t a cowgirl fan man so lay off the dude

  139. Sorry guys I’m just frustrated I don’t want to see our faces in the mud. I’m just an inpatient 49er fan! No disrespect I just hate the DALLAS COWGIRLS with a passion is anybody else with me! Let’s kick their asses next year in thew playoffs and win the superbowl once and for all, show the world what’s up!

  140. hell ya iagree

  141. GO NINERS WERE THE BEST PLAYOFFS THIS YEAR BABY YA !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  142. WHAT’S UP JOSH

  143. Ya bro, I think this is our year!

  144. We need some receivers though, this damn draft is taking an enternity to get here man.

  145. I would like to get one more pick in the firt round, i think we might do that for that receiver! Get that receiver with second first round pick if we make some deals.

  146. Josh, I’t be nice to get defensive pick in the first round and trade picks and get a Tall receiver in first as well!

  147. you know what comes out of Texas? Steers and queers, and you don’t type like you got any horns boy.

  148. After looking at what Mel Kiper thinks I STILL think we are going to draft either Willis or Carriker…..maybe Branch if neither one of these players are available. There is A REASON the niners didn’t schedule a visit with Jarrett…..they don’t want him. However, there were some other receivers that WERE ON THE LIST…..like Meachum. The way I see it….WE ARE DRAFTING Willis if he is on the board, however there is some speculation that Willis MIGHT go into the top ten so then they would most likely take Carriker. IF both are gone then they would probably take Branch. Branch’s stock is falling fast because no one is sure whether his head is in the right place or if he has the motivation to last long in the NFL. If I were the niners I would take that into consideration as well and I am sure they are.

  149. THATS RIGHT TELL RYAN HIS BUSINESS BOBBY BOUCHER. RYAN NEEDS TO REALIZE THAT! THANKS FOR POINTING THAT OUT TO RYAN THE FIRST THE ULTIMATE COWBOY FAN! FUNNY BOUCHEY!

  150. RYAN GOT TO BE FROM TEXAS!

  151. YOUR RIGHT RYAN DOESN’T TYPES LIKE HE HAS NO HORNS!

  152. u people are soooooo soooooooooo soooooooooo wrong about alan branch

this kid loves football, and hes very very good

u dont play as a true freshman at a school like michigan (especially in the trenches) and not have both a love for the game and exceptional talent

people say alan branch takes plays off…what they dont say is that he played every play…every play…all the other defensive lineman rotated out, but not branch…why?…because he was to important to michigans defense, they would rather have a tired alan branch in there than any one of the star recruits they have behind him

Branch is very good, and better than okoye, hes been overevaluated and if that causes his stock to drop then we will be lucky to have him at 11

  153. Also branch played every single defensive line position for michigans defense, he played outside end on occasion both the 1 technique and the three technique in a 4-3, he played nose in a 3-4, and played end in a 3-4, hes versatile, and you dont volunteer to take on all that additional responsibility unless you really want your team to win…and if he wanted his college team to win, hes gonna want his pro team to win..and that means he’ll have a great attitude

think about it of all the great players last year on michigans d-line (woodley, biggs, other starters) the only the one they couldn’t afford to take out of the game because he was so important to their defense was….branch

  155. I wasn’t talking about Ryan. I was talking about 49ergoldrusher, aka lonetexasninerfan. The Cowboys aren’t really our arch rivals anymore, it’s not the 90’s. Why don’t you texas boys worry about the seahawks, rams, and cardinals. Stop worrying about the cowhicks. And I believe Ryan is a true niner fan, so I’m with him not the cowhick obsessed retards that can’t seem to stop typing gibberish, even when no one is typing back.

  156. THANK YOU!!!!
