Jackson to 49ers

According to a league source, San Francisco and division rival Seattle are close to finalizing a trade that would send Seahawks wide receiver Darrell Jackson to the Niners in exchange for one of their fourth-rounders, believed to be the Niners’ third selection in the round, No. 124 overall.

The deal is contingent upon Jackson passing his physical, scheduled for Saturday at the Niners’ Santa Clara, Calif.

Upon further review however, Matt Maiocco is saying that the trade taking place is premature.

  1. im really excited for the season to start now,and we still got the draft to do yet.

  2. Not bad I would like that I say do it

  3. now i can see us drafting willis, carikker.branch or levi brown in the first round.but i will not ruling out us drafting a receiver in the 3rd or 4th round still.

  4. this would be a great pick up ….now we can use some of those other picks to upgrade out d-line and linebackers but we can not rule out picking up and wide out i really like the guy from S Caroline S Rice but as each day passes im really likeing what Nolan is doing with out team ……….if we can come away with two starters on defence and one on offence in this draft i give us an A+ but …………..this trade has to come through first

  5. I actually had a strong opinion that the 49ers would make a move for calvin johnson but this trade completely eliminates that option. Now we can get a receiver in the 3rd round and focus on the defense early. Patrick Willis is the guy to get.

  6. that sounds good to use the first two rounds on the defence side of the ball ……….with that 11th pick we need P Willis and the sound round we can go after a d lineman

  7. I WANT TO KNOW WHY,ONLY FOR A FOURTH ROUND PICK AND WHAT IS HIS SALORY AND OUR SALORY CAP NOW?

  8. the seahawks have darrell for a big contract that they cant and dont want to handle for an injury prone player but the 49ers have plenty of money for him wich is why we got him so cheap. I heard the titans offered an 08 4th and the saints offerd a 3rd but the interest falls to the niners.

  9. this is not good for all the guys who want a top WR in this year’s draft

  10. I would trade up for a premier tackle, if possible…

  11. Tim we gotta upgrade our defence this is a good move if you think about it D Jackson is not a bad wide out and that is more weapons for A Smith and now we can use all those other draft picks to upgrade out defeance and still get a good WR dont 4get we still have alot of picks in the this years draft

  12. A good move? ….. This is fucking amazing. A 4th rounder for D.Jack!!!!! Holy shit, if this guy stays healthy were in (the playoffs) thats it right there. Hes a proven wideout and deffititly a Nolan type player. AWESOME SHIT !!!!! THANK YOU!!!!!

  13. This is good!!

  14. This completely ruins the wet dream I had last night of us trading up for CJ, oh well.

  15. Darrel Jackson, Ashley Lelie, and Arnaz Battle is a decent recieving corps…….not to mention Big Vernon Davis on TE Awesome!!!!!!!

  16. this is great…this staff is awesome they just keep doing things right…great job nolan & co now lets draft defense and OL

  17. good move for only a 4th, its being reported on espn.com right now so i dont know if its premature anymore, i like it

  18. I really think we will draft eric wright CB from UNLV in the second round now that we filled the WR hole…wright will be groomed to take walt harris’s spot…wright was also at the niner complex last week…i wouldn’t be mad at all if they did how about you guys

  19. ILL BELIEVE IT WEN I SEE IT. BUT THAT MEANS FORGET DRAFTING A WR UNTIL PROBABLY THE FOURTH ROUND OHH WELL JACKSON IS GOOD IF HE COULD CATCH THE BALL.

  20. PATRICK WILLIS HAS TO BE OUR PICK I BELIVE. IF THE JACKSON THING GOES DOWN

  21. i think someone is going to trade above us for willis…i hope not

  22. yeah i hope someone doesnt either, i still think we have to take a WR at least by the 3rd round. Sydney rice looks good right now, we might have to take him in 2nd but he might have been a top 10-15 pick had he come out next year (came out early) so he is a bit raw. he should be hitting stride by the time jacksons time with us is over if we get him. im also looking for us to get Ik alama Francis out of hawaii, well see if weget him too. eric wright would be a good pick as well in the 2nd

  23. i hope we find out if he passes his physical before we pick also that could mess everything up…and they could possibly try and get another 2nd rounder targeting jason hill which would be great in my opinion…starting out the draft willis, wright, hill…not bad at all…plus makes sense because they are all players that we like and have prematurely targeted

  24. i think the team is really making all the right moves on paper we will not know if they paid off untill all the guys step on the feild i;m looking foward to seeing the team that steps out there and also i was watching on TV that one are going to be one of the teams next year with good cap space as well so we could resign some key guys or play another role in free agents but i;m looking foward to this year coming WERE BACK

  25. Today’s draft; Willis 1st; Ikaika Alama-Francis DE 2nd; Jason Hill WR 3rd; Jarmon Bushrod OT 3rd; of course that could change
when they trade Kwame Harris, and Justin Smiley today.

  26. there is some news that we have had preliminary talks with the cowboys for their first round pick for our first round pick next year because jerry jones believes he has no immediate needs this year…the report also said the cowboys will not make their final decision on the trade until it is their pick..so if your going to watch the draft you might want to pay close attention when the cowboys are on the clock…it leaked that it was the niners and another team but didnt say which one

  27. I am ready and fire up today guys! Greg, I just read a report that the patriots I looking to trade out of the first round. They have later picks in the day 28th and 29th? I was hoping for the Niners to grab Willis at # 11 and if branch or another defensive stud in late teens of early 20’s. What do you guys think? Possible?

  28. Well, if true the price for Jackson is great. I see that a lot of fans up in Seattle aren’t happy with losing Jackson inside the division for just a 4th round. This would pretty much settle the receiver corps for this year.

It looks like it’ll be Willis at 11, which would be great, but I’d like them to work their way up far enough to get that great big tackle. And if they can’t sign Smiley I’d like to see them boost their position in the first round by trading him.

Anyway, this’ll be fun for the next two days.

  29. BOO. Stop signing 2nd and 3rd slot recievers. We need a #1…..

Now if we get Ted Ginn or some #1, I retract that statement.

  30. Ted Ginn a number 1? Darrell Jackson is by all accounts other then yours a true number 1.

  31. ya niners lets go out and get the best player we can hell ya do the trade why not i just hopes he stays healthy plus image how hell step it up on his ex team GO NINERS YA BABY7!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  32. This guy is an idiot……….I would NEVER DO THIS!!

  33. Ryan the 1st, I read that article earlier today and I agree. His best argument was Nolan can change him. I do no think that Nolan wants to micro manage players. Are you fired up for the D. Jackson trade and the draft? Do you foresee any future trades for the Niners in the next two hours or so?

  34. IF we get DJAX I am going be stoked!!! I say we could wait out Jason Hill and see if he falls to third then.

  35. The draft just minutes away WHO WILL IT BE AT #11 and why are these stupid ass jets fans booing everybody especially when goodell, vick, smith and hall was up there to talk about what happened at virginia teck it was not the time to boo and these asshole are booing everything the stupid mutha fuckas is probably drunk.

  36. Yeah, especially if they get Jackson there is no way that the Niners should touch Moss. He’s never been one for training or off-season stuff. There’s some question about maybe his half-stepping last year may be covering up that he’s lost a step. Don’t know, of course, and he could end up with another team and show he’s still got something, but I can’t see Nolan putting up with someone like Moss.

  37. yeah that looks like it wont happen. Nolan is that coach that really looks at a players attitude and moss has alot of it plus with darrell jackson here its a hard move.

  38. Hey guys, we got him…
    blog.washingtonpost.com/nflinsider/2007/04/seahawks_agree_to_trade_d_jack.html

  39. he still has to pass his physical

  40. Just for the record, it’s DEFENSE. not defeance, not defence, not deafense. If you can’t spell just type the letter “D”.

  41. who are u talking to lloyd

  42. willis is still on the board,i hope later on in the second to mid rounds we get jay moore because he got three sacks againt him in the senior bowl.

  43. jay moore got three sacks against levi brown wich the cards took.

  44. I live in Seattle so I watch D-Jack all the time. He is the real deal. two things to watch: he is injury prone and also he goes through stretches where he drops alot of balls. When he is healthy and on he is very productive and in my opion this would be an absolute heist if the Niners pull this off.

  45. patrick willis is 1 pick away if the texans can just hold on to their pick hes ours.

  46. Jackson is a done deal, now just draft Adam Carriker and it’s all good!!!

  47. I really hope the TEXANS TAKE LEON HALL.

  48. THE DOLPHINS ARE MORONS!!!!

  49. when is D-Jacks physical? wrap that fool up and were golden next season!

  50. texans just picked okoye…willis is ours unless we trade back i hope not

  51. …oi Willis…HELL YEAH!!!!!

  52. YES!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  53. That is what i am talking about!

  54. WILLIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIISSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSS

  55. NOW WE NEED TO MOVE BACK INTO THE 1ST ROUND!!!!

  56. If Branch and Carriker fall in the 20’s the Niners should traded up!

  57. Darrell Jackson-WR- Seahawks Apr. 28 – 12:20 pm et

The 49ers and Seahawks have reportedly agreed to a trade that will send WR Darrell Jackson to San Franscisco in exchange for a fourth-round pick, according to the Washington Post’s Mark Maske.

The Niners are getting a lot of production for a cheap price; The Seahawks clearly don’t think much of Jackson to deal him within the division. He will immediately be San Francisco’s top receiver and a boon to Alex Smith, but his stats could suffer while playing for a worse offense.
Source: Washington Post …..move back into the 1st to try for Carriker and then get another WR in the 3rd!!

  58. The NINERS get WILLIS!!!! GREAT PICK!!! WOOO HOOO!!!

  59. Does anyone think we can end up getting Branch in the 20’s?

  60. Maybe but it doesn’t look like any teams are wanting to trade. Figured there would be at least 2 trades by now and nothing. Teams are wanting too much and this draft is not very deep on 1st round talent.

  61. We could and if he is available I would take him………that would be a STEAL AND A HALF. Plus, if this DJAX thing is true then we are going to be taking to the opposition. I have a feeling that we are going to move into the twenties and then use or remaining picks on o line and defensive depth…….maybe one receiver.

  62. And as soon as I say that, Carolina and the Jets make a trade. LOL they must need a corner.

  63. ure a stupid dumbaass

  64. NinersRule, i think the jets might go for Quinn

  65. ya niners lets go out and get the best player we can hell ya do the trade why not i just hopes he stays healthy plus image how hell step it up on his ex team GO NINERS YA BABY7!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  67. Is anyone still out there?

  68. I HAVE NO LIFE AND PICK ON EVERYONE.IM STUPID WITH A I.Q. OF -10………………………………………………………ZURDO SAID THIS TODAY-I WATCH PORN 12 HOURS A DAY ON THE COMPUTER AND WHEN IM NOT DOING THAT,IM GIVING HAND JOBS TO DWAYNE JARRETT.OR PICKING ON 49ERS FANS,BECAUSE I HAVE NO LIFE OF MY OWN.

  69. how many comments did u mess up get off loser.

  70. Some one is using my nick to insult fellow niners. Hey Erickson, is there anyway you can stop all tha bullshit that has been posted in the last few days. Honestly, I dont even know why someone is using my nick. Idont even post that much.

  71. Meachem and Boye are both off the board. 😦 I thought we would trade up and grab one of them at this spot. Not sure if we need to move up now.

  72. WE ARE MOVING UP!!! Maybe an Offensive tackle here???

  73. Sure is!! Another good pick!!! Joe Staley!! 🙂

  74. Wow. We gave up our 1st round pick next year to grab Staley. I’m not sure what to think of that??

  75. Got it back wit trade…got colts 08 1st rd. pick…dont trip..Nolan got this

  76. “This is an ongoing situation. Nothing’s happened. Tomorrow maybe, maybe not,” Seattle general manager Tim Ruskell told The Associated Press on Saturday night, many hours after Jackson had arrived at 49ers headquarters in Santa Clara, Calif., from his home in Florida for a physical — which he passed.

Nolan put the chances of a deal at “50-50, at best,” late Saturday night, according to the AP.

“We’re going to talk about it tonight, and Seattle has to come to grips with it, too,” Nolan said. “He was real excited to be here, and it sounded like he was making plans to be here. But it’s not up to him.”

  77. ITS A DONE DEAL FOR SURE. THE PICK IS TRADED TO SEATTLE ALREADY
