I don’t see it. You forgot about Alex Smith who will be playing for his third coordinator, under Jim Hostler. The 49ers are very high on Smith’s development right now, which is a good thing since he was the 1st overall pick. The 49ers have had a great offseason so far.
Patrick Willis was the clear cut best choice for us. I see us either going 0 linemen or d linemen next unless a receiver they can’t pass up falls to them. We still should pull the Manny Lawson with Dallas. Who knows what talent will still be available? I was just waiting for some Jarrett lovers to come on here and they seemed to have skipped out on this site today? I wonder why???
With the eleventh pick the 49ers select Patrick Willis. This team had targeted Willis since he played for Nolan at the Senior Bowl in January. He is a powerful and atheletic inside LB who will be a great fit in the 49ers defense. The 49ers could have targeted a defensive linemen here or a WR but Willis was easily the top player on their stack. This is a great pick for a team that must improve on the defensive side of the ball. And they have done a great job addressing their needs in the off-season.
