Tarell Brown Signs for 4
Another signing, another 4-year deal. Cornerback Tarell Brown, a fifth-round pick from Texas, signed a four-year contract today with the 49ers. He is the third of the 49ers’ nine draft picks to sign a contract. Linebacker Jay Moore and defensive tackle Joe Cohen signed four-year deals last week.

Sam Rayburn, recently released by the Eagles, is finding a pretty solid market as a free agent, writes Len Pasquarelli. Rayburn met this week with Buffalo officials and has other visits arranged. Rayburn, 26, will meet with the Giants the middle of next week, and could then go to San Francisco, where the 49ers are intrigued by his potential as a 3-4 end.
I feel good about the secondary too. I am however, a little concerned with the D line. Can we create a pass rush? If not, It won’t matter how good the secondary is.

I think spencer can shut his side down graig because he will be going against the 2nd best WR and spencer is right now between a #2 CB and a #1 he has not been able to get in a rythem with his injuries and always having to be against the #1 WR. I say spencer proves himself this year.

It looks like we are signing our lower draft picks. The next to sign will be Clayton (don’t quote me like it has happened yet or anything). They are signing the picks which will sign for chump change because these guys need money and want to sign NOW. However, look for our third rounders to get signed by the end of next week. The first rounders aren’t going to get signed until Jamarcus Russell signs his deal and I have no clue when that will occur.

Nolan will have all of our guys signed and in camp on time. Look for a big contract for Willis, hopefully a long term deal. I was excited as hell in 06 when we chose Vernon; I was twice as excited this year when we got Willis. This guy is going to be awesome. Singletary is going to turn this guy into a hall of famer. We are going to be so good this year. I cannot wait to see what this team looks like on opening day. If we win our first two, against Arizona and St. Louis, our momentum will carry us to the playoffs and beyond. We fucking own Seattle, and to top it all off we just stole their best wide receiver. Bobby Bouche, I really believe that if with start out with two wins the team will get more confident and will gain momentum. I think that we have schedule that favors the Niners and that could also help. I have to admit I am a little concern will Norv Turner leaving. I would be even more confident if he was still on board. The good news is Smith isn’t starting in a whole new offensive system.

The defense I am ready for a complete make-over. The coaching staff did a great job on trying to bring that in. A-lot of people said we over-paid certain players and maybe they are right. But sometimes you have to bring in talent and pay a little extra for it. I will never get mad at the 49ers, for trying to fix the defense. If they don’t try they would have never known.
What do you think about signing Sam Adams to a 1yr deal and trying bring in Sam Rayburn. Going back to the defensive talk, i don’t think the weakest point as of right now for the 49ers is the d-line. What do you think?

Our defense is strong. All the holes we had last year have been fixed. LB, CB, and NT. Like I said; can’t wait till we get on the field this year. Clements deal paid him alot on the back of that 80 million contract. We will not pay him those last two years. It was a seven year deal. We got a shut down corner with a nasty attitude. That’s what our defense needed was a little nasty. Would you want to run into Patrick Willis in a dark alley at night?
Opposing offensenses should be scared. Our defense is going to be tough this year.

I honestly hope we don’t trade Kwame Harris, yes I just said that and yes I did cringe a lot last season because of his “dumb ass” plays. But a normal NFL lineman usually takes a few years to develop, and he atleast gives us more depth on th O-line at minimum. I cant see how the Kwame Harris Lowlight’s video can’t be a somewhat kind of motivation video for him. Hell you’ve got to know that every player in the league and his family and freinds saw it. He has been working out and working on his technique this whole offseason. I just think he will be coming out the gate like a monster, and no there is no real news about him and the 49ers have not really been talking about him at all. I was thinking about the Justin Smiley “thing.” Larry Allen plans on retiring at the end of the year. What I think Nolan and company wants to do is wait to the end of the year to see if they really need to keep Smiley on board. If Larry Allen retires at the end of the year, I believe that Nolan will give Smiley a contract. If Smiley rejects it, Nolan should franchise tag him to get something out of Smiley. I think that Nolan likes Smiley as a person and as a player, but the price has to be in some reasonable range for the 49ers. What do you guys think?
As I have said before I am concerned about the DE position. I think the 49ers need to get a decent DE threw free agency or a trade (highly unlikely). The only person I can think of right now is Sam Rayburn. Also, I didn’t see many cuts from June 1. None from the Niners anyway. I know that the salary cap has given many teams a lot of slack with money this year, I assume there isn’t going to be as many free agents this year as there were in the past.
