Gore Gets Four More

frank-gore-2a.pngSo much for Rosenhaus getting the richest contract for Gore. ESPN is reporting that the 49ers and Frank Gore have come to an agreement that will keep Frank in Red & Gold through the 2011 season. No official word from 49ers headquarters at this time, but the report is that four years were added to the deal and the five year value of the contract is worth $28 million, with $14 million of that guaranteed.

  1. Wow! this is great if it’s true!

  2. Frank deserves the money, and it sounds like a reasonable contract for the Niners. Wonder if Hicks is sticking around.

  3. Reasonable? That’s a miracle deal. I feel like I just had great sex! GO NINERS!

  4. thought Rosenhaus would try and rape us….cant say this is a bad deal at all……now, lets hope last season wasnt a fluke……

  5. I agree with vernon davis….this was a great deal, but who was the idiot telling me that Marques Douglas was our answer to the D line? Yes, he had a great game against the seachickens, but what about the rest of the season? We need a guy who makes the offensive line say,”We need to double that guy!” and we don’t have that. Like I said, BY is going to be used sparingly, Douglas is alright (I’m Not saying he is bad) Soap is all muscle and no skill (but I still like him), and Franklin will be good, so we need more than that. We need to bring some young, fresh legs that attack the QB and this draft can offer us that. Congrats to Frank….you earned it!

  6. Ryan the 1st is right, we need to draft d-line first at number 11. I have seen willis play and his is damn good, but the d-line is the most concern. K. Harris is a close second!

  7. I would like to take Carriker, but I feel that Willis is more talented at his position. Branch is good, but he takes plays off and we can’t have that.

  8. Word Frank. Rosenhaus must have been too busy with Briggs!! Question for yall, is today pro day at USC?

  9. Im sure Rosenhaus was trying to kill us, but Frank probably pulled him off and told him he doesnt want that kind of money, just a good deal to leave some money for us.

  10. Interesting note from Maiocco on trading picks:

“With 10 draft picks, the 49ers could stand pat and conceivably get a couple really good players and a handful of other players who have a chance to be solid contributors. For the first time in a while, even the middle-round picks will have to fight for their spots on the team charter.

    * * *

But the 49ers have undoubtedly studied the merits of packaging some of those picks to move up in the draft to get another first- or second-round selection.

For instance, they could trade their second-round pick (No. 42) and all three of their tradeable fourth-round picks (Nos. 104, 110 and 124) to get another first round pick around No. 27. Is that worth it?

    * * *

Or they could package their third-round pick (No. 76) and their first two fourth-round picks (Nos. 104 and 110) to move up 23 spots to get the No. 53 overall selection — another second-round selection.

Then, they would still have two fourth-round picks (Nos. 124 and 135), which would give them six picks in the first four rounds including three picks in the first two rounds.”

  11. When I saw it on espnnews last night it was like a breath of fresh air I see gore didn’t let THE AGENT mess things up GOOD FOR GORE!!!!

  12. Todd McShay’s latest mock draft has Alan Branch slipping to us at 11. It seems very feasible when you look at it. Either way, a very solid defensive player, whether it be Carriker, Willis, Landry, or Branch, will be available for us. Apparently some teams were scared off by Branch’s work ethic and conditioning. That can be fixed easily and I do not see why we should not take him.

  13. FUCK YA BABY FRANK GORE ALL THE WAY FOR US TODAY GOT WHAT HE Deserves NOW JUST DO WHAT YOU DID LAST SEASON WITH OUT SO MANY FUMBLES AND MAN WILL HAVE ONE OF THE BEST YOUNGEST OFFANCE IN THE LEAUGE MAN THAT MAKES ME SO HAPPY NOW LETS JUST DO REALLY GOOD IN THE DRAFT AND MAN I SMELL PLAYOFFS NEXT YEAR HELL YA GO NINERS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  14. in case u missed it….http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9IqadSMQm5o
draft willis at 11. WR in 2nd round, then trade up into 2nd round to get a DE. i think this will solve much of our needs. dont want to pass on willis, hes the type of player that 3-4 years from now we mentioning him as best LB in league but in a 3-4 we need a line to free up the LB’s

  15. I just want us to address a NEED. D LINE is a NEED, middle lineback is a NEED, Kwame’s replacement is a NEED. A number one receiver is a NEED because I think Lelie is a superb number two and battle is a superb number three receiver, but if we are going to ask them to step it up to be our one and two receivers then we need to draft a good receiver in the draft who is READY to take the number three spot and CHALLENGE the other receivers for their number two or one spots. I would like Landry with the 11th pick because he is a great player and free safety is a need, but not as much as the other problems that I have mentioned. If we stay put I would love for Michael Bush or Darius Walker to fall to us. Alan Branch would be nice, but I don’t want him if he doesn’t have the work ethic and isn’t going to be motivated once he has signed for guaranteed millions.

  16. I agree with MoneyMike….Willis is just too good to pass on at the 11th pick. He would be the LEADER this defense has lacked for years. Michael Lewis, Clements, Roman, and Harris aren’t going to let the young bucks lose the fire, but we need a linebacker that gets the fire going for our front seven.

  17. mikewilliams-yes usc’s proday is today and i hope jarrett runs a 4.25-lol….and for maiocco’s trading picks if you do the second scenario and move up in the 2nd rd..we could in turn trade the new 53rd pick and our 42nd pick and move up to 20th pick overall and get our stud reciever giving us 2 immediate starters giving us 7 new starters from last year…not bad

  18. Tank Tyler will still be in our range along with Mebane and Pitcock……if we get two of those players then we will be fine.

  19. I agree with Greg because after 21 is when the four QUALITY receiver will be gone (BOWE, Meechum, Ginn, and Jarrett) and you know the chiefs are going wideout so we should scoup them.

  20. Sidney Rice wouldnt be a bad pick in the second, but I would rather have one of those four receivers.

  21. ryan i am kinda iffy of tyler…he reminds me of anthony adams…he will be good but not for a 3-4 system…not tall enough…just a thought

  22. It’s funny how so many people bagged on Frank Gore when rumors flew around about how his agent wanted a bigger contract.

All of a sudden people complained about how bad his knees are, how selfish he’s becoming and how he’s just a ‘one hit wonder’.

C’mon my fellow Niner fans, when you hear a rumor stop jumping to conclusions so quickly. Based on this contract, obviously not much has changed with Frank’s apparent “ego”.

And now, this article comes out & everyone loves him again, give the guy a break. Other than that, I cant wait til’ the draft!

  23. nicely said i couldnt agree more imfasterthanur…i knew this whole thing would be done smoothly everybody started flipping out because it was drew rosenhaus negotiating the deal so what…let him do his job…anyway its done great job all parties now lets get to some prodays and get through this draft

  24. Yes, I admit it, I didn’t want to believe that Frank would sucumb to the money grubbing ways of THE AGENT. I formally apologize and am man enough to admit that I was wrong and I was WRONG, WRONG, WRONG!!! Frank, I am glad that you proved to be the classy individual that I originally thought you were. So, NO on Tank Tyler, HUH??? I am fine with that as long as we get two quality d tackles and a nose tackle in the draft. We need fresh bodies to throw at the QB.

  25. HOW MANY TIMES HAS SINGLE D-LINE PLAYERS AND OFFENSIVE TACKLES WON THE BIG GAME BEEN THE STAND OUT PLAYERS. I’M TIRED OF HEARING THIS. WE NEED A BIG TIME, TALL RECEIVER. I WISH WE COULD MAKE A TRADE FOR CALVIN JOHNSON, NOT REALISTIC, I WISH THAT MAN IS T.O. TIMES 2. WE NEED A RECEIVER TO COMPLEMENT LELIE OR OTHER WISE WE ARE GOING TO BE TOOK NEXT SEASON. OUR ASSES ARE GOING TO BE STIRRED FRYED AND SENT HOME IF WE DON’T DO SOMETHING ABOUT THIS POSITION- NEED. T.O AND THE COWHICKS ARE GOING TO BE TAKING OUR GLORY AWAY FROM US, DOING THE COWHICK DANCE, WITH THAT HILLBILLY JONES AT THE SUPERBOWL IF WE DON’T DO SOMETHING. IT’S COMING AND WE NEED TO KNOCK THE COWHICKS OUT OF CONTENTION ONCE AND FOR ALL. – WATCH AND SEE IF WE DON’T GET SOME MORE ELITE “RECEIVERS”. WHAT WE HAVE NOW WILL NOT DO THE JOB. WE NEED ONE OR TWO MORE BIG IMPACT RECEIVERS VIA FREE AGENCY OR DRAFT. I WANT TO WIN “NOW” DEFENSE LOVERS NOT FIVE YEARS FROM NOW. WE NEED AN IMMEDIATE IMPACT! LET’S DO THIS! LETS SHOW THE NEWS DALLAS COWHICK SEAN SAUSBERRY LOVING FANS THAT THE NINERS ARE GOING TO WIN ANOTHER CHAMPIONSHIP WHETHER THEY LIKE IT OR NOT. THEY ARE A BUNCH OF FAT HILLBILLY CORNDOGEATING WRESTLING WATCHING FANS. I’M GOING TO CONTINUE TO PISS THEM OFF FOR YEARS TO COME ESPECIALLY IF WE WIN A SUPERBOWL!

  30. ryan i have said it before and so have you we need minimum 3 picks on our d line i think they should be 3rd rd through the 6th and i wouldnt even care if they used all the picks on the dline but i want jacoby jones and michael bush(if possible) and an OT so if they can get those between rds 3-6 use all the rest on d-line

  31. well so much for jarrett…he ran a 4.67 and a 4.62 in his 40 but he did do good in everything else…i guess pete carroll showed his catches that he made in practice not in the games and were very impressive i guess, still can’t find anything on steve smith though i am not sure if he even worked out…as for jarrett a little slow for my liking but running that slow he could easliy fall to us in the 2nd…watch for teams to work him out at their facilities against their cb’s

  32. this is good, now I can buy a frank Gore jersey

  33. how many times do I have to say it….jarrett sucks!! I wouldn’t mind him becoming a niner…but only if he comes second or third round.

  34. to lone texas 49er,It sucks that you live in texas,I’ve been there it sucks.trying living in OK where everyone thinks everyone fro CA is gay.they all like dallas too.some KC fans but usually just dallas, hey just remember, the niners were the first to win 5 superbowls, and they whooped dallas’ ass to do it!

  35. steve young is way better than troy aikman.and Montana is better than all QB’s including peyton Manning.

  36. i have to agree texas sucks

  37. do we play dallas this year?

  38. Greg, I could not agree with you more, but now that Jarret is going to slip a little I have two questions for you. 1) Who would you take….S.Rice or D. Jarrett? 2) Is is just me or could this Briggs trade between the bears and skins be a blessing and a curse because the bears get that pick they are going to take willis with the 6th pick, maybe not. But, we could go after the skins for the 31st pick and trade up a little with some picks since the skins don’t have ANY in the second, third and fourth.

  39. we should trade to get lance briggs.he is looking for a trade, and he plans to sit out ten games of the 2007 season if he doesn’t get traded or paid.it doesn’t look like he’s getting paid,so anybody in mind to trade…kwame harris of coarse….and maybe….?

  40. What if a team needs a possession receiver? Isn’t that what Jarrett is.

  41. KFFL is reporting he ran a 4.60 and 4.65 in the 40. Also that he had a 4.18 short shuttle (as opposed to Brandt’s 4.20). They also listed his 3-cone drill as 7.22 (as opposted to Brandt’s 7.28).

  42. Anyways, here’s all the receivers from the combine that I can find who had worse 3-cone drills than he did. I highlighted some well-known receivers in bold for the heck of it (not to imply anything because each player is different)…………..

    2006 – Jonathan Orr (7.34), Cory Rodgers (7.38)

    2005 – Charles Frederick (7.41), Reggie Harrell (7.42), Efrem Hill (7.43), Howard Gilmore (7.56)

2004 – Andrae Thurman (7.32), Bernard Berrian (7.34), Johnnie Morant (7.35), Terrance Copper (7.36), Maurice Brown (7.38), James Newson (7.43), Justin Jenkins (7.50)

2003 – Adrian Marise (7.32), Keenan Howry (7.34), Anquan Boldin (7.35), Antwone Savage (7.37), Ronald Bellamy (7.38), LaTarence Dunbar (7.41), Mike Bush (7.42), Kareem Kelly (7.51), Talman Gardner (7.54)

    2002 – TC Taylor (7.59)

2001 – Daniel Guy (7.35), Marcus Williams (7.37), Jovon Green (7.41), Arnold Jackson (7.42), Steve Smith (7.44), Chad Johnson (7.51)

    2000 – Charles Lee (7.30), Windrell Hayes (7.33), Joey Hamilton (7.57)

1999 – Peerless Price (7.28), MarTay Jenkins (7.30), Jeremy McDaniel (7.30), Jermaine Copeland (7.30), Derrius Thompson (7.31), Craig Yeast (7.31), Lenzie Jackson (7.32), Michael Vaughn (7.32), Chad Plummer (7.34), Dameane Douglas (7.36), Troy Edwards (7.37), Tony Small (7.39), Damon Griffin (7.42), Daniel Jones (7.58), Tywan Mithcell (7.60), Shawn Foreman (7.75)

  43. Damn… all this talk of Jarrett is making me hungry. No more Doritoes. No more friend chicken. No more Twinkies. I will be back guys, going to 7-11. I would walk, but fuck that! I havent worked out since last year.

  44. i love willis but i would trade #11 for briggs hell yeah why not, he is young and proven…i think willis is good and will be good but not every player pans out…there is always a chance that they dont make it at the next level…briggs is big, physical, and has speed…that would make the best offseason EVER….clements, briggs, m lewis, banta cain, franklin plus the draft come on oh yeah and lelie

  45. and if they do make that trade with the skins and the bears take willia then draft branch all day unless landry is still there or trade back and get bowe in the late teens

  46. willis i mean obviously sorry

  47. willis or adam carriker?

  48. i say we should go after a chearleader in the first round.ooooppps we did a couple of years ago we got kwame harris.and dont replace a harris with another harris.i just seen that loud mouth drew rosenhuos on sports center and he is jason hills and aundrae allisons agent.so i gues after one good season we will see a hold out in the future.

  49. I say if Willis is gone then we go with Branch over Carriker and then make the trade with the skins because it sounds like it is really likely to happen. With the 31st pick it is possible that Jarrett will still be there.

  50. WE HAVE THE PICKS TO ACQUIRE THAT PICK. Let’s not give the other teams the chance to acquire their second biggest needs. If the skins get the 31st pick we need to make them an offer they can’t refuse. If we do this then we will get the 2 starters to add to the five we have already acquired and it is really possible that we will acquire two more with our compensatory picks as well. Our scouting department is first class.

  51. dwane jarrett is not a first round talent he will still be avalable in the second round unless pats or chargers or cheifs get him.

  52. I’m not saying that it has to be Jarrett IF WE GET THE 31st PICK. Get the best player available, but that gives us more options and also lets us pick before the colts who have similar needs to us besides wideout.

  53. justin blalock with the 31st pick!!!!!

  54. Exactly….that would solve the KWAME problem. THERE ARE MANY PROBLEMS WE COULD SOLVE IF WE GOT THE PICK FROM THE SKINS. The bears don’t really need the 31st pick.

  55. probley wont happen but trade our first round pick plus kwame harris and jona jennings and derick smith for the raiders first round pick.

  56. its 7;30 in jersey and niners are on the nfl net….about can the 49ers handle the prime time.and i think blalock will be a better guard than tackle.but i never seen him play tackle so im just guessing.i think smiley is fast on his feet and i know he plays gaurd but i think he could make the good transition to tackle.

  57. i would want joe staley at 31 he is more of a tackle than blalock…blalock is a beast though would be nice to get rid of smiley and have blalock replace him somehow

  58. nfl net is saying thatfrank gore, alex smith and vernon davis(THE BIG THREE) are going to have to grow up quickly and learn how to win games on there own with out turner and there might be a learning curve for our new offensive cordinator with such a tough season.

  59. To hell with all of that…..we don’t NEED NORV TO WIN. The 31st pick in the draft wouldn’t be hard to pry from the hands of the redskins. We should do it.

  60. but they did say that the nfc west might be the new up and coming power divition in the nfc.

  61. for anyone who doesnt now who paul williams is you can go to you tube and type fresno states paul williams highlights.just to let you guys know.

  62. yeah paul williams is good but why did he miss so many games last year and we would have to get him in the early third

  63. i would take him with the supplemental third rd pick no earlier though but he will probably be gone by then

  64. because fresno states offense was not that good so they double teamed paul williams and stop there running game. big m watched them all year long.so he nows more than i do on fresno state.but he can be like a marvin harrison or at the least be lik ebernaard berrian.i think any way.

  65. reports tell us in the upcoming draft the 49ers are leading towards a reciever lots of talk about usc wideout dwayne jarret a heavy favorite for the number 11 pick if availible

  66. Paul Williams would be a great addition to the squad….I have a good feeling about him. He would be a good pick up with our 3rd round comp. pick.

  67. What a WASTE THAT WOULD BE….I trust Nolan, but I have to REALLY SCRATCH MY HEAD if he were to make that move. He JUST ISN’T WORTH IT……what did he do to get the associated press SOOOO DAMN HIGH ON HIM?

  68. Does anyone believe in destiny? Pat Willis playing for the 49ers? Does anybody know what jersey number Willis wore for Ole Miss?

  69. I don’t know what number he wore, but I know he will look a hell of a lot better in RED and GOLD than Jarrett would.

  70. He was #49!

  71. Willis could be the next Ray Lewis. Defense wins championships Baby. Draft Willis.

  72. SERIOUSLY….this would be a draft BLUNDER to take Jarrett. Right now, I would give Nolan and co. a B+ to A- in scouting and drafting, but if we draft Jarrett it would slip to a C+ because we are talking about a player that will be available at pick number 21 so why would we take him ten spots early. He had poor showing at his pro day so why is everyone STILL thinking he is going to excel at the next level???? He did average to poor in 90% of his drills.

  73. Willis is EXACTLY what the doctor ordered for the niners. TAKE HIM WITH A SMILE!!!

  74. how wouldnt you give them an A to an A+ so far where did they screw up…but yes i agree at #11 landry, willis, branch in that order

  75. Patrick Willis will be a niner. Adam Carriker sucks. Way over hyped. Okobe,Anderson, are way better. Branch yeah sounds like Reggie Mcgrew all over again. And Jarrett stokes part 2. Oh and Ryan im the idiot that said Douglas was the anwser. Your Dreaming about picking a D-lineman in the first. Willis will be the pick for sure. Nolan loves his play and character. Carriker is fucking garbage. Second rd pick will be a reciever.

  76. Willis! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9IqadSMQm5o
toughness playing with a cast and still productive and great closing speed. 2nd round- draft a WR then trade up for another 2nd and draft a DE. the D-line is what frees up LB’s in the 3-4.

  77. i thnk we should get the guy from USC NUMBER 8 HES A BAD ASS

  78. –im not sensing any pacman jones in him during acceptance speech

  79. It’s really cooooool.

  80. I hate to say it but Willis does remind me of another former Niner in Julian Peterson. I still can’t believe he’s not with us still but oh well. Regarding the draft in the first round I do like Willis or Carriker. Second I like a DE or WR. Personally if Sidney Rice is there you take him because of his upside with being 6,4 and 200 lbs. Doesn’t have burner speed with a 4.50 40 yard but that’s why we signed Lelie!

In the third round (if we don’t trade up, which I’m in favour of) you address the DE spot.

    My 2 cents!

  81. Willis wore #49 at Ole Miss is spooky shit for sure. I love it and I remember a few years ago when we had both Carter and Peterson we had a top 5 ranked D. Good Linebackers are important to any team, especially the Niners in goalline situations. We need guys that can get the job done!

  82. Dont forget we have a healthy Vernon Davis who could easily be a number one receiver. Draft defense!

  83. draft the clitt!everyone likes to play with the clitt.men and women.

  84. ninerfan81-why are you opposed to move up in the draft

  85. Ooops, its all in how you say it. I meant I’m in favour of trading up. Sorry for the confuson (confusion) LOL. I agree with what was mentioned in the Press Democrat the other day of combining our tradable picks from the 3rd and 4th round to grab another pick ih the second.

  86. Has anyone seen Sexy Rexy?

  87. we should at LEAST grab another second rounder….that round is going to be loaded and we still will have a 3rd and some fourths. It would be worth it to grab another quality starter.

  88. Darrell Jackson Sea WR..is still a possibly trade 4 us…. wouldnt mind seeing that go down…..STAY AWAY from Jarrett

  89. whereissexyrexy,no i havent heard from sexy rexxy,he is to busy playing with the c.l.i.t.t..dont stay away from me (the clitt)because im wet and fingure licking good.

  90. KERNAL SANDERS YOU GOT IT RIGHT. LETS MAKE IT SIX. HOUSTON, DALLAS ARE PROBABLY THE WORSE CITYS IN THE NATION FOR COWHICK FANS! THE PEOPLE DOWN HERE ARE STUCK UP, AROGANT AND THEY ARE NOT ALL THAT. JUST A BUNCH OF METROSEXUAL- HILLBILLIES! i’M GOING TO CONTINUE TO WERE BE THE ONE OF THE FEW 49ER FANS DOWN HERE IN HICKVILLE.

  91. I’VE BEEN MANY PLACES IN THE COUNTRY AND SAN FRANCISCO IS THE MOST DOWN TO EARTH, LAID BACK PLACE. YOU DON’T HAVE A BUNCH OF UPTIGHT HILLBILLY OR STUCK METROSEXUALS RUNNING AROUND. I WANT TO THE 49ERS TO SHOW THESE PEOPLE DOWN IN TEXAS WHO THE TRUE AMERICAS TEAM IS!
